Fall time at the library

Posted August 27, 2014 in Community Blogs, Grimes

I honestly cannot believe the summer break has passed and the kids are back in school.
That time went faster than the Kentucky Derby!

empty buildingStorytimes will be starting up on Tuesday, Sept 2.  We have a new format this year, Tuesday Storytimes will be for Toddlers, at 9:30 and 10:00am.  The activities, stories and crafts are geared for a Toddler level. Wednesday Storytimes are designed for Preschooler levels. Thursday and Friday Storytimes will be prepared for all ages of children. Pick which time works best for you and your child.  Currently we have no restrictions or registration requirements and hope to continue to be able to offer the classes on a ‘stop by’ basis.  If you have a question as to which Storytime would be best, come visit and talk to Fionn or Janet.  They will be happy to help you out.

If we get tight on space, we will ask parents or caregivers of children who would do okay without you in the room to enjoy the rest of the library, have a cup of coffee, read the paper, browse, chat with a friend, or enjoy a computer or iPad while waiting for your child.  We do ask you remain in the building.

We are continually thinking of returning to our James Street building.  We are going to be closed for 3 weeks to get the collection back on the shelf.  Since half of our items were in storage, we will need to integrate the two collections in our new space in their new areas.  Drywalling is supposed to start this week, the lights are arrive around September 19, and we finishing up plans for our return and our Sneak Peek Gala!  Be sure to be a Friends member to secure an invitation to the Gala!
