Buck Buckley
Arnold “Buck” Buckley, 85, died Friday, August 22, 2014 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Iles Grandview Park Funeral Home. Burial will follow at McKeever Cemetery near Colfax.
Arnold was born May 9, 1929 in Ira, Iowa to Raymond and May (Wickliff) Buckley. He was raised in the Colfax area and married June Wertz on November 11, 1949. Buck was a heavy equipment operator and mechanic for 65 years working on gas and oil pipelines throughout the country. He was a member of Local 234 for 60 years.
Survivors include his wife, June; children: Pat (Bruce) Davidson of Pleasant Hill, Marsha (Ben) Von Ruden, Donna Burt, Tammy (Dave) Cooper, Darwin (Michelle) Buckley all of Altoona; ten grandchildren: Tracy Adams, Sean Davidson, Kasey (Scott) Strosahl, Ashley Davidson, Tiffany Jelsma, Michael (Kathy) Burt, David Burt, Stephany Buckley, Ericka Watson, Kate Cooper; seven great grandchildren: Solomon Strosahl, Payton Burt, Averleigh Jelsma, Jonas Strosahl, Logan Burt, Emmeri Jelsma, Judah Strosahl; siblings: Violet (Dean) Revell of Newton, Zane (Carolyn) Buckley of Knoxville. Buck was preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings: Dorothy Breckenridge, Jessie Couch, Mollie Warrick, Carrie Paulson, Joy Christen, Ruth Hope, Josephine Bell, Ralph Buckley, Lee Buckley.
