Barbara Harrison
Barbara Jane Nicoll Harrison was born in Winterset, Iowa on March 20, 1928. After graduation from Panora high school in 1946 she attended Drake University where she met and ultimately married Ben W. Harrison. They have one son, David, who now lives with his wife, Ruriko in Waikoloa, Hawaii. Barbara’s husband, Ben, predeceased her in October, 2013.
Barbara was an active member of Central Presbyterian Church, singing in the choir for many years. She also volunteered at Iowa Methodist Hospital as well as working in the Iowa Legislature as a secretary.
In addition to her son, Barbara is survived by a sister, Onnie Duffie and brother in law, Dr. Edward Duffie, Jr. from Savannah, GA; a niece, Sara Breaker of Denver, CO, and a nephew, John Duffie of Narberth, PA. Also, her special friends, Lanice Goettsch and Carole McGarvey.
Barbara passed away peacefully on August 14, 2014 at Calvin Community.
