Des Moines, IOWA — August 19, 2014 — The Windsor Heights Young Professionals Group (WHYPro) is hosting a 5k for cancer research on Sunday, September 14, 2014. There is no cost to participate in the run, but donations are strongly encouraged. All proceeds will go directly to the Holden Cancer Center at the University of Iowa.

Individuals may pre-register at http://www.windsorheightschamber.com/whypro or register at the event. Registration opens at 8 a.m. at Colby Park (6900 School Street, Windsor Heights) with the run beginning promptly at 9 a.m. A live band will be at the finish line along with family activities.

WHYPro members are also asking for sponsorships for the event. Current sponsors include: Hy-Vee Windsor Heights, Crystal Clear Bottle Water, Wal-Mart Windsor Heights, 3E and Matt Cale State Farm.

Participants of all ages are invited to attend to raise money for cancer research.
