Where in the world is DMPL?

Posted August 20, 2014 in Community Featured, Downtown

To celebrate Library Card Month, we’re asking library users to post photos tagged with #mydmpl on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. Any photo — where you read or what you read — is fair game for this fun quest. Share a shot of yourself reading, your favorite book or even your library card on vacation. If you’re listening to a downloadable audiobook, or researching online at www.dmpl.org, take a picture, tag it and share it. At the end of September, we’ll pull all of the photos into our Instagram account, draw winners and award prizes. Go ahead — take your best shot!.

Hey kids! C’mon down for early out Wednesdays!
Teens, tweens and children are invited to join us on Wednesday afternoons for a series of fun activities. Early Out @ Central starts at 2 p.m. on the first three Wednesdays of the month. Teen and tween programs include a scavenger hunt, a manga/anime event and an opportunity to learn about the library. Children’s programs include building with Lego/Duplo blocks, games and crafts.

How-To Tuesdays coming in October
If you want to learn about brewing your own beer, cake decorating or dabbling with yoga’s many mental and physical benefits, keep an eye on the October events calendar at www.dmpl.org. We’re planning a series of how-to events on Tuesday evenings. These family-friendly events also include an introduction to the library’s online resources and e-books, creating sock puppets and a scavenger hunt.
