Sign up now for golf outing

Posted August 06, 2014 in Community Featured, Johnston

The Chamber fun continues with the annual golf outing. Sign up now for this fun event.

It has stopped raining, and now it is way too warm. That can only mean one thing — school is about to start. But it also means that the Chamber golf outing is coming soon, and it is.

The annual Johnston Chamber golf outing is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 22 at Beaver Creek Golf Course in Grimes, and there is plenty of time to get signed up. The outing begins with lunch at noon and a shotgun start at 1 p.m. As always, this is a great networking event for Chamber members. With the help and support of gracious sponsors, we will have a raffle and hole prizes.

Sign up your golf foursome before Aug. 15 for $85 per person.  After the 15th, the price increases to $90 per person up to the day of the event. Contact Heather at the Chamber office today to reserve your spot. This year you will have an opportunity to purchase mulligans and raffle tickets ahead of time when you sign up before the Aug. 15 deadline.

Tee and green sponsors are being contacted by the golf committee. Sponsors receive recognition at the hole they sponsor and before and after the event. We still have a couple spots left, but they are going fast. Call the Chamber office soon if your business is interested.

Non-golfing members can join in on this event by registering for the social/lunch only. Reservations are $20 per person. We encourage you to stop by for lunch and stay a little longer, even if you do not golf.

Finally I want to say thank you to the golf committee members for their time and effort organizing this event. They have put in a lot of groundwork and will be working hard that day to ensure this a fun, enjoyable outing.  A big thank you to all of our sponsors who have committed already.

In closing, I want to say that the Chamber Golf Outing is not a fundraiser for the Chamber. Proceeds for this outing go directly to cover costs for the event. Any money raised will be reserved to help repair and replace street banners from the wear and tear that occurs over time.

We hope to see you on Aug. 22.
