Fourth of July thank you note

Posted August 06, 2014 in Community Featured, Perry

We would like to send a huge thank you out to everyone who had a part in making this year’s Fourth of July the great success it was. A special thank you goes out to the parks and recreation department. Kevin Kanealy and his crew set up the park with tables, trash cans, etc. to help make everyone comfortable. After the celebration, his crew came back to clean the park, making it look as if no event had even taken place. Thanks to the street department and the police for helping set everything up and for directing traffic at the end, along with the numerous things in between.

The Chamber Board deserves thanks for all the help in planning, along with the help they provided the day of. Misty VonBehren, thank you for lining up the parade. Thank you to Kim Jackson at Blue Rock Productions for providing sound at the band shell all day. And last, but not least, a huge thank you to our sponsors who support us financially, which makes this great event possible. Sorry if I left someone out. If you were a part of this celebration, then thank you for giving your time to make Perry’s Fourth of July celebration the great time that it was. Please support our sponsors.

Friday Fest
Come on down to Pattee Park on Aug. 15, this summer’s final Friday Fest. We will be bringing Aquamarine Dream Machine to town to play 1970s rock covers and some original tunes as well. Dallas County Hospital will host a health fair on site. Make sure to check out all the great information they will be sharing. Inflatables for the kids are open from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Don’t forget, the kids need to have a pair of socks. Make sure to fill your picnic basket or cooler with plenty of local foods and beverages. A huge thank you to our sponsors for making these events possible. Without your continued support we would not be able to put together these great programs.  The music starts at 6:30 p.m.

The Chamber will also welcome the teachers and staff of the Perry Community School District back for another great year on Aug. 18 with a breakfast. If your business would like to be a part of this event by sponsoring or helping serve, please contact the Chamber at 465-4601. Let’s make sure the teachers and staff  know how much we appreciate them.
