Bob Silvers
Robert, “Bob”, 88, passed away August 3, 2014 at Mercy Hospice. He was born February 3, 1926 in Omaha, Nebraska to Earl and Maude Silvers. Bob served in the U.S. Navy, serving on the U.S.S. Frederick Funston. He worked for Meredith Publishing and R.R. Donnelly, and was a member of Des Moines Printing and Graphic Communications Union No. 86.
Bob married Jackie on September 9, 1979. They enjoyed traveling, and square and western dancing. Bob was a winter Texan and a jack of all trades, using his talents liberally for others.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bonnie; brother, Leonard; and a step great-grandchild.
Bob is survived by his children: Diane (Tom) Haight and Gregg (Kris) Silvers; four grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; his wife, Jackie; two stepchildren: Mike (Sandy) Sibley and Linda Sibley; eight step grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; and sister, Hazel Spaulding.
