Marian Finestead, 92, died Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at Walnut Ridge. Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 19, at Emmanuel United Methodist Church where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Private burial of the cremated remains will be held at the Lincoln Cemetery near Granger.

Marian was born May 24, 1922, in Dallas Center to Samuel and Mildred (Bruner) Stoner. She married Ray E. Finestead on November 8, 1941, in Granger where they made their home and raised their children.

Marian is survived by her children, Barbara (Ross) Chambers of Urbandale and Daryl (Sarah) Finestead of Minburn; daughter-in-law, Mary Finestead of Louisburg, KS, her sisters: Phyllis Gardner of St. George, UT and Marty (Dale) Finestead of Granger, 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ray and her son, Dr. Dave Finestead.
