Catholic youths should mark their calendars this month, as several fun faith events are going to take place in no time.
Holy Trinity Parish, 2220 Fourth Ave., is ready to bring an annual Totus Tuus to the community in Fort Dodge. It is a summer program when Catholic youths will share the gospel and promote Catholic faith through evangelization, catechesis, Christian witness and Eucharistic worship.
The objective of Totus Tuus, or “totally yours” in Latin, is to inspire a desire for holiness, daily conversion and openness to vocation, particularly amongst youths, by submitting themselves entirely to Jesus Christ through Mary, and to enhance their spiritual lives in her likeness.
The program is separated into two age categories. The five-day event for kindergartners through fifth graders is scheduled for July 21-25 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., while the middle school and high school session will run July 20-24 from 7:30-9:45 p.m. each day. Both sessions will take place at the Corpus Christi Center.
Registration fee is $20 per child with a maximum of $50 per family. Registration forms are available for pick-up at the parish and the business office. Printable registration forms can be obtained at www.holytrinitywci.org. Forms must be returned to the office by July 15.
The parish is also taking its altar servers on a day trip to Adventureland in Altoona on July 17. The members will submerge themselves into a pool of fun and joy by spending a day in the amusement park.
“This trip is in appreciation for the time that the youth give to altar serving at both daily and weekend Masses,” Parish Life Director Hiedi Touney says.
Registration fee is $10. The Knights of Columbus, Holy Trinity Parish and other parish groups will cover most of the costs.
