Bob, 83, passed away on June 16 at Kavanagh House on 56th Street. A memorial visitation will be 2-4 p.m., Saturday, June 21 at Brooks Funeral Care in Clive. His cremated remains will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

Robert Leo Rogers, the son of John and Elizabeth (Halter) Rogers, was born January 26, 1931 in Oram, Missouri. He entered the U. S. Navy at age 17 and served for 31 years, earning the rank of Master Chief. Bob served on aircraft carriers and was stationed all over the country. After retiring from the Navy, he entered civil service. Bob and his wife, Corinne, settled in Perry for the past 20 years. He enjoyed playing golf, racquetball, and fishing. Bob was also a great chef, an avid reader, and an inspired storyteller.

Bob is survived by his wife of 27 years, Corinne; sons: James (Susie), Dennis, Chip (Kelly), and Jon (Jenny); stepdaughters: Lynn (Chuck) Buske, Leslie (Paul) Mayhugh, and Lisa (Scott) Bjornson; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; he was dad and granddad to them all. He is also survived by two sisters, Ellie and Dee.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; and his daughter, Robin Elizabeth Smith.
