Bob Henderson
Bob C. Henderson, 81, of Ankeny, Iowa, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014 at Vintage Hills Assisted Living in Ankeny.
Memorial Services will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Memorial Services of Iowa funeral home (4208 N Ankeny Blvd). A visitation will be held 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 18th, also at the funeral home.
Bob was born April 27, 1933 in Humbolt, Iowa to Dewey C. and Lavera M. Hartwig Henderson. He was a graduate of Valley High School in West Des Moines and a member of the United States Marine Corps serving in Korea.
Bob married Pauline Schumock and lived in Polk City. He retired from AE Dairy where he was employed as a retail deliveryman for more than 20 years. Following Pauline’s death, Bob again found love, marrying Phyllis Hall, and moving to Ankeny.
Bob is survived by his sons Daniel (Dawn) Henderson of Bettendorf and Bobby (Kim) Henderson of West Des Moines; sister, Elayne (Terry) Syferd of Fort Dodge; grandchildren Luke, Alex, Danny and Tessa Henderson; and his closest friend Rita Oline.
He was preceded in death by both his wives and his sisters, Lucille Rust, Iva Slater, Darlene Hair and Donna Heman.
