Police Station Sendoff

Posted June 13, 2014 in Community Web Exclusives, Johnston

The Johnston Police Department is getting ready to say goodbye to its current police station and move into the new, voter-approved Public Safety Building. We hope you will come visit as they say goodbye with a Station Sendoff and Spaghetti Feed on Saturday, June 21. All proceeds benefit the Youth Homes of Mid-America, located on NW Beaver Drive.

Join us at 6221 Merle Hay Road from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm on Saturday, June 21 for lunch and a public safety expo. The expo will include take-home DNA kits, the Kid Pix Program, bicycle registration, and free car seat inspections and installations. Residents may also drop off any unwanted ammunition for free.

Residents will have a chance to enter their names into a drawing for a private tour of the new Public Safety Building, hosted by Police Chief Bill Vaughn. There is no cost to enter.

The Johnston Police Department would like to thank Hy-Vee for providing lunch and to Atlantic Bottling Company for providing beverages.
