Bernice M. Shawhan, 92 of Ankeny passed away May 30, 2014, at her home.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Memorial Services of Iowa funeral home (4208 N. Ankeny Blvd.). Burial will follow at Ankeny Memorial Gardens.
A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the funeral.
Bernice was born September 17, 1921 in Des Moines, Iowa to Leonard and Aletta Lind.
She was married to Donald Shawhan June 14, 1941, in Des Moines, Iowa. She went to work for Dean’s Studio, tinting photos. Later, she managed the books for Shawhan Auto, along with her husband until their retirement.
During her lifetime she enjoyed, picking blueberries and making pies with them, and especially shopping.
Bernice is survived by 3 daughters, Donna Lee Anglin, of Des Moines, Cinda Browne, of West Des Moines, Linda (Anthony) Sferrazzo, of Clive; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son Stephen, and a daughter Cheryl Ann.
