The City of Adel and the Adel Historical Museum are excited to host a special viewing of Nile Kinnick, Jr.’s 1939 Heisman Trophy on Saturday, June 14, 2014, from noon to 2:30 p.m. at the Adel Public Library – 303 S. 10th Street. Special guest Herky the Hawk will also be on hand to interact and take photos with attendees.
This once-in-a-generation opportunity will help raise funds for a new museum addition honoring former and longtime Adel citizens Nile Kinnick, Jr. and his grandfather, Governor George Washington Clarke.
Your $20.00 viewing fee (or $50.00 maximum per family) will go directly to the Kinnick Addition. In addition to the rare viewing of Kinnick’s Heisman Trophy and time with Herky, all paying attendees will receive a grilled lunch special, a day pass to the Adel Family Aquatic Center, and be entered into a drawing for a Dallas Clark autographed jersey and other sports memorabilia.
We hope to see you on Saturday, June 14! Other community events that day in Adel include a traveling war memorial at the library, a varsity softball tournament, a poker run, a bags tournament in the downtown square, and a military veteran band in the evening.
