Services for Esther O. Brooks, 95 of Perry, Iowa have been set for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church in Perry.  Pastor Ray Holmguist will officiate the service and the organist will be Bertha Mae VanHorn.  Musical selections will include; Beautiful Savior, A Mighty Fortress Is Our God and This is the Glory.  Pallbearers will be:  Larry Seeman, Jim Seeman, Jon King, Steve Anderson, Jon Brooks, and Nathan Vetter.  Burial will be in Violet Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Monday, June 2, 2014 starting at 2 p.m. with family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. at Murdock Funeral Home in Perry.  Esther passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Spring Valley Retirement Community in Perry.

Esther was born on February 20, 1919 in Bouton, Iowa the daughter of John and Dora (Meier) Seeman.  She married Nace V. Brooks on December 31, 1942 in Des Moines, Iowa.  Esther lived most of her life in the Bouton and Perry area.  In 1953, Esther and Nace moved to their farm north of Perry on Highway 144.   She continued to live on the farm until her move to the Spring Valley Retirement Community in Perry.  Esther was a member of Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church in Perry where she was also a charter member.  She was a member of Kings Daughters, Perry Legion Auxiliary, Perry PTA and a 4H leader.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents and husband on February 10, 2000.

She is survived by one son Stewart (Kathy) Brooks of Bellevue, IA; one daughter Barbara (Tom Meyers) Brooks of Chicago, Il; one brother Harly Seeman of Woodward, IA; two grandchildren Jon & Sara Karimi- Brooks and Julianna (Nathan) Vetter and several nieces, nephews and valued friends.
