An invitation to our community

Posted May 21, 2014 in Altoona, Community Featured

Community can be defined as an interacting population of individuals in a common location.

Christ the King Lutheran Church has been part of the Altoona community for almost 40 years. For more than 25 years, our Children of Christ Preschool has been serving the families of our community as a faith-based preschool that blends the joy of learning with sharing the love of Jesus every day. You might know us, or you might not. Maybe you’ve driven past our church on First Avenue North and never really noticed us. or you’ve heard about us as the “little” Lutheran church in town.  Well, we would love for each of you to come and get to know more about our church and especially our preschool.

The Altoona Police Department will be on hand for the Faith Fest on May 31.

On Saturday, May 31, we are holding our second annual Faith Fest, which is one of our special outreach events for our community. We want everyone to come and get to know us and our preschool and have a lot of fun in the process. We have activities planned for all ages. We will have carnival games and treats for the kids, a classic car show, silent and live auctions for fun items, as well as a bake sale and food to enjoy. We will even have the Altoona Police Department offering free finger printing for kids and the Altoona Fire Department providing child seat safety checks. (And kids of all ages can check out the really cool vehicles that our police and fire departments have.) Our preschool will also be open for tours and some fun activities, along with our staff being on hand to answer any questions.

All of the proceeds from this event will go to support our Children of Christ Preschool so we might continue serving our community for years to come.

So we invite you to come and have some fun with us at Faith Fest on Saturday, May 31st from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Christ the King Lutheran Church (600 First Ave. N.) If you would like more information visit our website, or visit our church and preschool Facebook pages.
