She graduated from Thornton Fractional Township High School and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Iowa State University. Ruth is survived by her son, Marc Drexler, of Gaithersburg, Maryland; her former husband of twenty years and devoted friend, Burt Drexler, of Ames; and her sister, Katherine Ivanov, of Portland, Oregon.
