Patricia ‘Pat’ Buttermore, age 65, of 653-270th Street, rural Ogden, died May 2, 2014, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at the Cornerstone Alliance Church with Rev. King Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Sparks Cemetery, southwest of Boone.
Patricia Dayle Buttermore was born in Guthrie Center, Iowa, on March 15, 1949, the daughter of Dale and Helen (Marshman) Crabbs.
She graduated from Guthrie Center High School and then Pella Central College in Pella.
On August 17, 1972, Pat married Gary Buttermore in Des Moines.
In the 1970’s, Pat worked as a secretary for Sauer-Sundstrand in Ames. She later was manager of Buttermore Lumber Mill west of Boone from 1987 until 2007, when she retired.
Pat enjoyed reading, cooking, and baking.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Pat is survived by her husband Gary of rural Ogden; a son Roderick Buttermore and wife Alex of West Des Moines; her mother Helen Crabbs of Guthrie Center; two sisters, Rita Campbell and husband John of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Leanna Plagman and husband Roy of Guthrie Center; three sisters-in-laws, Janice Caputo of West Des Moines, Ruth Edwards and husband William of Coshocton, Ohio, and Kristine Buttermore of Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall on Tuesday from 2 until 8 p.m. where the family will be present from 6 until 8 p.m. On Wednesday, friends may call at the Church from 9 a.m. until service time.
