Volunteers Needed for Annual Spring Community Clean-Up

Posted March 28, 2014 in Community Web Exclusives, Urbandale

Urbandale, IA – The Urbandale Community Action Network (UCAN) Caring Corps is seeking volunteers for the annual Urbandale Spring Clean-Up.   This year’s clean-up will take place on Saturday, April 12 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

Volunteers help elderly and disabled Urbandale residents prepare for spring by cleaning out flower beds, planting, and other general yard work. Volunteers should meet at the Lion’s Park shelter house at 72nd & Prairie in Urbandale and provide their own work gloves, rakes and trimmers, if possible. A Continental  Breakfast will be served to all volunteers.

Both groups and individuals are encouraged to volunteer. Anyone interested in volunteering and any individuals in need of assistance may contact the Caring Corp office at 278-3999.

“I look forward to seeing the smiling faces of our clients each spring when we arrive to assist them.  They are so appreciative.  Knowing what the help means to them will keep you going back year after year,” said Jill Turner, Spring Clean-Up Chairperson.  “Please join us in “Neighbors Helping Neighbors.”
