Saylorville Lake Drawdown for Sedimentation Survey

Posted March 27, 2014 in Web Exclusives

Beginning Friday 28 March 2014, Saylorville Lake level will be lowered two feet at a rate of one-quarter to one-half foot per day.  Once conditions are right, a flight will occur to obtain LiDAR data that will be used in calculating sedimentation in the reservoir. The flight is estimated to only take 4-6 hours.  Once completed, the lake level will gradually return to the normal 836 elevation, depending on inflows to the reservoir.

If you have any questions contact the Saylorville Lake Administration Office at (515) 276-4656 or for more information on Saylorville Lake water levels, outflows and inflows visit http://www.mvr.usace.army.mil/Missions/Recreation/SaylorvilleLake.aspx
