Des Moines, IA – March 12, 2014 – The Des Moines Arts Festival ® is now applications for the Festival’s award-winning Prairie Meadows Community Outreach Program that takes place on-site at the three-day Festival June 27–29 in downtown Des Moines’ Western Gateway Park. Prairie Meadows partners with the Festival to offer local non-profit organizations the opportunity to share their mission with thousands of guests free of charge.
“As a fellow non-profit organization, we understand the continuing struggle to fulfill our missions while on a tight budget. Thanks to our co-sponsor Prairie Meadows, this program extends the opportunity for local non-profits to engage with thousands of people at the 2014 Festival for free” – said Stephen King, Festival Executive Director. “These organizations are an integral part of the Des Moines community and the Festival is pleased to offer this opportunity.”
In exchange for free promotional space, each selected organization either offers an interactive arts-related activity for guests or provides volunteers for the Festival. There is an additional option to pay for space at a reduced rate of $600. Up to 22 organizations can be featured in the Program.
All participating non-profit organizations are promoted in Festival marketing materials, on the official Festival Web site, and in the official Festival guide.
Interested non-profits can find the information for participation under the Interactive Arts tab/Community Outreach at www.DesMoinesArtsFestival.org. All applications must be received by 5 p.m. Friday, April 18th and accepted organizations will be notified no later than Friday, April 25th.
