It’s that time of year again — Fireworks Drive! It will take place on Thursday, April 3. The Perry Area Chamber of Commerce partnered with Raccoon Valley Radio and will once again be located on Railroad Street between the Perry Public Library and Carnegie Library which will serve as the drop-off location for this year’s Fourth of July Fireworks drive.
KDLS will broadcast live on the air from 7 – 10 a.m. and again at 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. as they take your donations. You may call into the station at 465-5357 to pledge your donation or drive through on Railroad Street on your way to work, while running errands or during lunch time to drop off contribution to your Fourth of July Fireworks.
Local businesses or organization can also assist in two ways: you have the opportunity to donate a service or product that individuals can call in to win while contributing. Another way is when you call in to make your own contribution to the drive, your name will be mentioned on the air for your contributing support.
Don’t fear — we will continue the pie auction tradition. The auction will be from 8 – 9 a.m. live on KDLS. There will be eight to 10 pies baked by our favorite Perry pie makers. Make sure to tune in to 1310 KDLS to snatch up your favorite pie while supporting this great event. Join in for some fun, laughter and common-unity. If you are not able to call in or drop off your donation, you can call our office or email email@example.com to make a pledge.
Again, we are asking for volunteers to collect donations at both locations on April 3. We encourage local individuals, businesses or organizations to become involved by collecting donations in their place of business or go to your family, friends and neighbors to collect coins, dollars or checks.
The Perry Area Chamber of Commerce will host its annual dinner on April 8 at the Hotel Pattee. The evening starts with a cocktail hour at 5:30 p.m. We will celebrate the Chamber’s accomplishments in 2013 and give our Spirit of Perry and Citizen of the Year awards. The Annual Dinner Awards encourage and showcase Chamber businesses and citizens that strive for excellence in product, service, management and as community leaders. The annual dinner is a great night to celebrate all the hard work of our members, directors and staff. Along with the awards program our guest speaker will be nationally renowned cartoonist Mike Lynch. Tickets are available at the Chamber, and the event is open to the public. Come out and celebrate with us.
