Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, at the funeral home, with Reverend Carla Werre officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, south of Madrid.

Emma was born on January 7, 1928 in Burt, Iowa, to William Frederick and Florence (Dittmer) Schrader. She was a 1946 graduate of Lone Rock High School, of which she served as Class President. She was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant with the former Granger Manor in Granger and also had worked at the former Mataya’s Drug Store in Madrid until her retirement.

Her passions were gardening, growing flowers, sewing and numerous crafts. She was a very creative caring person. Emma was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother; she has left us with wonderful memories and we feel blessed to have had her in our lives.

She is survived and lovingly remembered by her four sons, Thomas Saxton of Cedar Rapids, Steven Saxton of Sioux City, David Saxton of Madrid and Jeffrey Saxton of Estherville; three stepsons, Lonny Wilson of Storm Lake, and Gary and Rick Wilson both of Estherville; one stepdaughter, Nancy Nygaurd of North Liberty; one sister, Wanda Camerer of LeMars; and 25 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Bobbie; Emma was preceded into eternal life by her parents; two brothers, LaRoy and Edward Schrader; and one grandson.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to all the staff at The Madrid Home for the excellent care she received. God bless each of you for the hard work you do and for providing such a pleasant, welcoming environment.
