
Prepare to be dazzled by professional magicians from the Quad Cities Magic Club. Advance tickets are available at the library for $5; children younger than 2 are free. Tickets at the door the day of the show are $8. The show is Friday, March 7, from 7 – 8:15 p.m. at the Waukee High School Auditorium. A limited space pre-show magic class, starting at 6 p.m., will be available for youth ages 8 – 18 for $15. This family-friendly show will help fund the summer reading program.
March adult programs
Book Discussion. March selection is “Maus: a Survivor’s Tale” by Art Spiegelman. Tuesday, March 18, 1 p.m. Books are available at the desk. Light refreshments served.

Teen and tween programs
TAB. Teen Advisory Board (grades six – 12) meets each Monday at 3:30 p.m. to plan teen programs and to sign up for volunteer activities.
Teens. Wild Wednesdays! After school fun for sixth – 12th graders. Wednesdays right after school. March 5, 1:30 p.m, the movie “Thor,” popcorn provided. March 12, 3:30 pm, Shrinky Dinks. March 26, 1:30 p.m., “Divergent” Party.
Tweens. Almost Friday Fun! Thursdays at 4:30 p.m. March 6, St. Patrick’s Day Crafts. March 13, Shrinky Dinks. March 27, DIY Angry Birds Beanbags.
Children’s weekday programs
Babies & Books. For infants birth to 18 months with a caregiver, 15 – 20 minutes of songs, books and rhymes, followed by playtime. Mondays at 10 a.m.
Toddlertime. For toddlers up to 3 years with a caregiver, 20 minutes of songs, fingerplays and read-aloud stories, followed by playtime. Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10 a.m.
Preschool Storytime. For children 3 to 6 with a caregiver, 30 minutes of read-aloud stories, songs and rhymes, followed by a related craft. Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10 a.m.
Pajama Time. All ages. Bring your teddy and wear your jammies. Bedtime stories, songs, rhymes and a craft. Thursdays at 6:45 p.m.
Reading Under the Stars. Kids in first – third grade, attend this special book club and participate in activities that correspond to the books we read. Kids who attend will help decide what we read. Thursdays, 6:45 – 7:30 p.m.
