Don’t worry — spring is just around the corner. Remember, any day is a good day to curl up with a book.

Use the indoor drop
Please feel free to use the indoor drop (located right next to the south entrance). It’s open 24-7 for your convenience.

Activities for our youngest patrons
Baby Bounce meets every Monday at 10 and 10:45 a.m. The program is for infants to 24 months.

Preschool Storytime meets at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 12, 19 and 26 in the children’s room. It is for children from 4-6, but younger and older siblings may attend with their parents. This is a traditional storytime with stories, songs and a craft at the end. Please note that the day has now changed from Mondays to Wednesdays.

Toddler Storytime meets on Thursdays, March 6, 13, 20 and 27, at 11 a.m.

Homeschool program
Homeschool program is the second Tuesday of the month at 2 p.m. (March 11). Kids in K-5 are welcome to attend. Each month is a different topic. Your child will enjoy interacting with others of similar ages. Call the library at 967-3881 for more details.

Grade school activities
Book Buzz Book Club
Book Buzz Book Club meets on the third Thursday of the month, March 20, at 6 p.m. Children who can read or are learning to read are invited. The program is a step up from regular story time. We read together, make a craft, play games and have a snack.

Family activities
Lego Club
Our monthly Lego Club meets on Wednesday, March 5 at 4 p.m. No pre-registration is required.  Children are given a theme and are encouraged to build their own creations. Creations are displayed in our lobby cases for the month. All ages are welcome.

Online Book Club
Join a book club that fits your busy schedule. Try our Online Book Club. Search for “Altoona (IA) Book Club” on Facebook. Ask to join. Read and discuss when it fits your schedule. The discussion in March will be on “Wild” by Cheryl Strayed. April’s discussion will be on “The Light Between Oceans” by M.L. Stedman. We have additional copies at the front desk if you need one.

Teen Tech Week March 9-15
Do It Yourself @ Your Library is the theme for Teen Tech Week. Teens will receive an entry in our tech drawing for every song downloaded from Freegal and/or downloads from WILBOR during that week. More information will be provided starting March 1.

Hunger Games
Catching Fire Party
Join us Thursday, March 20, at 1 p.m. for our Hunger Games: Catching Fire party. It will be complete with pizza, popcorn and a Hunger Games-inspired craft.
