Teen Lounge meets from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons in the meeting room. It’s a place to hang out with friends, use a laptop or do homework, plus snacks, video games, movies and more. All teens (grades six – 12) welcome.

Advice for Your Device: Drop in on Thursdays between 1 – 3 p.m. with your device (tablet, eReader, laptop, smartphone, etc.), and we’ll work with you on library-related services (eBooks, eMagazines), no appointment necessary. Hardware issues will not be addressed. Can’t make it on Thursday afternoon? Call to set up an appointment at another time.
Book Discussion: “Cheap Cabernet” by Cathie Beck on Tuesday, Feb. 25, noon – 1 p.m. In March, we will read “Half the Sky” by Nicholas D. Kristof on Tuesday, March 25 at noon. Books are available at the checkout desk.
Family Board Game Night: Friday, Feb. 21, 5:30 – 8 p.m. New this year: Life-size versions of Battleship and Candyland along with lots of regular board games to play. Children fifth grade and younger must be with an adult or older family member. Taco bags and cookies will be served.
Nutrition 101: Tuesday, Feb. 25, 6:30 p.m. Learn about good nutrition and how to work it into a healthy lifestyle from HyVee Registered Dietitian Shelley Woodall.
eMagazines Made Easy: Thursday, Feb. 27, 6:30. Learn how to check out free eMagazines with your library card. Bring a fully-charged device or laptop, library card, and your email account information.
The DIY Club: Coat Hanger Rag Wreath, Thursday, March 6, 6:30 p.m. Transform old fabric and a coat hanger into a stylish addition to your home décor! All materials provided, no registration needed.
My 15 Favorite Perennials… That Anyone Can Grow! Tuesday, March 4, 6:30 p.m. Nicole, from Red Granite Farm in Boone, will talk about the care and upkeep of her favorite perennials.
Adult Movie: “The Book Thief” (PG-13). Tuesday, March 18, 6 p.m.

Children’s programming
Saturday Children’s Movies are shown every Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to noon for ages kindergarten to fifth grade. Feb. 22: “Mr. Popper’s Penguins” (PG); March 1: “Gnomeo and Juliet” (PG); March 15: “Escape from Planet Earth” (PG); March 22: “Frozen” (PG).
Lego Fun Club (ages 5 and older): Last Tuesday of the month, 4 – 5 p.m. (Feb. 25).
Toddler Storytime (ages 2-3): First Wednesday of the month, 10:05 – 10:35 a.m. (March 5).
Preschool Storytime (ages 3-5): Tuesdays, March 11 – April 15, 10:05 – 10:35 a.m.
