It may be cold outside, but you can feel the warmth radiating from the beautifully decorated home of Matt and Stacey Corbett where they live with their children — 3-year-old son Grayson and 2- year-old daughter Addyson.
The couple moved to the Grimes area in 2004 and bought their current home in the growing Beaverbrooke neighborhood a little more two years ago. They chose to move to Grimes because, according to Matt, “It is still small enough to have that little town feel, but close enough to the metro Des Moines area to have all of the conveniences we want and need. It’s also handy for me to get to and from work at Brokers International, about 30 miles away in Panora. It’s a straight shot west of here on Highway 44.”
Stacey worked for Ryko Solutions in Grimes for about 12 years, and now with two young children has chosen to be a work-from-home mom and consultant for local area businesses. She is also happy to be living in Grimes because she has always heard great things about the Dallas Center-Grimes school district.
“Now,” she says, “with Grayson in preschool at North Ridge Elementary, I’m glad we made the choice to live here in town.”
When asked about their plans for their home for the coming year, the Corbetts agreed it is time to make some improvements and additions both inside and outside.
“As the kids get older, we find we need more space,” says Stacey. “So we are getting ready to lay out the electrical we need to finish off our basement.” The plan includes a large entertainment and bar area as well as two additional bedrooms for the family.
Outside, Stacey indicated they will be adding a large flower bed to the northwest corner of the house. She is looking forward to warmer weather and the opportunity to do some landscaping on their lawn. She also pointed out it is an excellent excuse to spend more time outdoors as a family.
