Betty Bowman
Betty Ann Bowman was born October 1, 1943 to Guy Elroy and Helen Marie (Hudson) Allee in Grenada, Mississippi. She graduated from Burlington High School in 1961 and went on to graduate from State College of Iowa (now UNI) with a degree in teaching in 1965. Betty and Mike Bowman were married August 15, 1965 in Burlington. Betty was a member of Collegiate United Methodist Church in Ames and enjoyed genealogy, reading, flowers and gardening. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Betty passed away February 12, 2014 at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames at 70 years of age.
Betty is survived by her husband, Mike Bowman, of Ames; her mother, Helen Allee, of Ames; her children, Kimberly (Greg) Larson, of Marion and Brian (Colleen) Bowman, of Oswego, Illinois; and five grandchildren, Alyssa Larson, of Waverly, Logan Larson of Dyess AFB in Abilene, Texas, Abigail, Brianna and Hayden Bowman, all of Oswego.
She was preceded in death by her father and her grandson, Grady Larson.
Memorials may be designated to Collegiate United Methodist Church or Israel Family Hospice House.
