Al Buehler
Alan Buehler, 67, of Des Moines, formerly of Alleman, passed away February 12, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 15 at Salem United Church of Christ in Alleman. There will be a visitation one hour prior the service. Burial will be in Lincoln Township Cemetery.
Alan “Al” Robert Buehler was born May 2, 1946 to Robert and Arlene (Lewis) Buehler in Des Moines. After graduating high school, Al worked as a tire builder for Firestone for 30 1/2 years and then for the North Polk Community School District. Al and Theresa Lint were united in marriage on September 21, 1984. He lived most of his life in Alleman and was a member of Salem United Church of Christ and a veteran of the Iowa National Guard. His hobbies included showing cats, being a gun dealer, and coin collecting. Al enjoyed playing cards and spending time with family and friends.
Al is survived by his wife, Theresa Buehler, of Des Moines; his son, Keith (fiancée Shelley) Buehler, of Alleman; his daughter, Shari Buehler, of Alleman; three grandchildren, Ashley, Jennifer and Reagan; and one sister, Jean Wilson, of Rockford, Michigan.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
