July 24, 1960 – January 26, 2014

Tim Halsey, 53, died Saturday, January 25, 2014, at home. A funeral Mass will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 29, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in West Des Moines. Burial will follow at Jordan Cemetery.

Tim was born in Des Moines on July 24, 1960, to John L. and Lusia S. Halsey. He attended Sacred Heart Grade School and graduated from Valley High School in 1979. Tim was employed at West Construction for many years, a job he loved, and where he was treated like family. Tim loved animals, especially dogs, of which he always had a pet dog. He enjoyed fishing and camping, especially after he purchased a camper.

Tim is survived by his daughter, Jessica Foster, his father, John Halsey of Madrid, Iowa and his brothers, James Halsey and John J. Halsey, both of West Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his Mother and his uncle T.J. Szwarc.

Tim will always be remembered for his big heart and willingness to help others.

The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Tuesday at Iles-Westover Chapel where a Vigil Service will be held at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa. Online condolences will be welcomed at IlesCares.com.
