Q: How can chiropractic affect womens’ health?

Posted January 22, 2014 in Advice Column, Boone

A: Today’s busy lifestyle lends itself to a variety of health and wellness issues, and it is especially true for women. The daily juggling act of working, raising children and maintaining a home is a daunting task for both parents. At times it seems like there’s not enough hours in the day.  These life demands often lead to increased stress, poor diet choices and lack of time for proper exercise, which is a recipe for health issues waiting to happen.

Heart disease continues to be the No. 1 killer of women, but fortunately in most cases it is absolutely preventable with proper diet and exercise throughout your life. The high stress of the daily grind can lead to a variety of aches and pains as well as psychological issues such as depression and anxiety. Of course, breast cancer is a major concern among women and although the cause is not fully understood, many cases have been linked to improper gene expression, and environmental factors such as toxins through poor diet.

So how can chiropractic care help with these issues? To start, it is the most effective and cost efficient treatment for back and neck pain to help relieve that stress. Also, a chiropractic lifestyle highlights the importance of proper diet and exercise, as well as nervous system wellness so your body will function at its highest ability. On Feb. 27 we will host a Womens’ Health and Beauty Expo at the fairgrounds to showcase local products and services catered to you. Come join us.
