Bridge Building with the DOT
Saturday, Jan. 25, 1 p.m.
Learn about bridges in Iowa, then build and test your own paper bridge. Ages 5 and older. Please register.
RVR Youth Club (Read, View, and Refuel)
Tuesday, Jan. 28, 4:30 p.m.
We’ll discuss and watch “Holes” by Louis Sachar. Read the book prior to the meeting, come to watch the movie, and then we’ll discuss both. Pizza and fruit will be served. There is a $5 fee for the meal. Please register.
Early Out Adventures
Wednesday, Jan. 29, 1:30 p.m.
School age kids are invited to come to the library after school on early dismissal days for fun activities. Join us to watch “Despicable Me 2” today. No registration required.
Tail Waggin’ Readers
Saturday, Feb. 1, 9 – 11 a.m.
Improve your reading skills and make a new friend by reading aloud to a therapy dog. Students in second, third or fourth grade may sign up for a 20-minute time slot to read to a therapy dog partner. Please call the library to register, 986-3551.
Monday, Feb. 3, 7 p.m.
The Grimes Library Book Club will meet at 7 p.m.
Youth Night: Candy Game Night
Thursday, Feb. 6, 4 – 6 p.m.
Come play — or learn how to play — poker using candy, or play any of our other games from Settlers of Cataan to Labyrinth to Yu-Gi-Oh. Recommended for ages 9 and older. No registration required.
Saturday, Feb. 8, 1 p.m.
Join us to make string and straw puppets with moving parts, rubber band bracelets, and picture frames. Recommended for ages 7 and up, no registration required.
Kids night: Craft Night
Tuesday, Feb. 11, 6:30 p.m.
Come make pencil toppers and decorate pencil bags and pencil sharpeners along with other crafts. Recommended for ages 5 and older. Please register.
