Claryce “Clancy” Marilyn Craven Uhl, 89, widow of Dr. George J. Uhl, died Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Wesley Village in Wilmore, Kentucky. Born May 26, 1924 in Des Moines, Iowa, she was the daughter of Clarence and Ferol Ballard Craven.
She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Uhl (Stephen R.) Hillis; a son, Danny Uhl (G. Steven Medley); four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, she was an active member of the Evangelical Free Churches in Ames and Iowa City. She worked as an administrative assistant at the Pentagon, the University of Iowa and Iowa State University.
No formal services are planned. Burial will take place in Ames Municipal Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the charity of one’s choice.
