Enter our Doctor Who science fiction reading contest beginning Jan. 2 and win some fabulous prizes! Celebrate 50 years of the good Doctor’s television show. The contest is for those 10 and older, through adult.

For every science fiction/fantasy book checked out from that section, you receive one entry form which makes you eligible for one of two prizes:  a $25 iTunes card or the grand prize of a real Doctor Who wristwatch.

Here’s a new twist on the contest. If you submit a drawing of your favorite character from that series with any of your entries you earn an extra two entries. We’ll display it up along the sci-fi bookshelf during the contest. It could even be a Dalek.

The grand prize winner will come home with a Doctor Who watch that features a picture of the Tardis. Since you’ll be wearing the watch of a time lord, there will be no excuse for ever being late again, right?

The contest runs until Feb. 14. Please submit just one picture per person, but you may check out as many sci-fi books and enter as many times as you like. Rules will be posted on the sci-fi bookshelves and will be available at the circulation desk.
