Carl Rhoer Ice Skating Rink Opens on Saturday

Posted December 19, 2013 in Community Blogs

The Webster City Recreation and Public Grounds Department would like to announce the Carl Rhoer Ice Skating Rink at Nokomis Park (North Des Moines Street) will be opening on Saturday, December 21st.  On Saturdays and Sundays the hours the shelter will be open are from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  There is no cost to use both the rink and to borrow ice skates that are available in the shelter.

During the week (Monday through Friday evenings) the hours will be announced depending on the number of persons who volunteer to supervise the skating rink/shelter.  Currently there are no volunteers to staff the warming shelter Monday through Friday evenings from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Please contact Kent Harfst at Fuller Hall if you are interested in volunteering your time. With weather conditions changing on a daily basis, please call Fuller Hall at 832-9193 to make sure the skating rink is open.  A special thank you to Jim Mitchell for volunteering to make the ice.
