It’s the holiday season and we’re having a regular Winter Wonderland here in Webster City!  Come out on Saturday the 14th and you’ll find so very many things to do.  Here’s just a few of them.

Christmas at the Bridge

Bring the entire family to the Bridge located at 905 Des Moines Street on Saturday, December 14 from 9 am to 12 noon.  Christmas at the Bridge is a FREE family event where adults, teens, and children come and pick out a present for their little brother, their big sister, their Mom, their Grandma, their neighbor -someone on their list!

The Bridge will be filled with tables of toys, books, clothing, treats, tools, candles, gift cards, baskets, stuffed animals, coloring books, crayons, all sorts of gift. Refreshments will be served. All families from our community are invited to come and no reservations needed.

Holiday Movie at the Library

The library has special children’s movies and this Saturday is Disney’s Christmas Carol (PG, with Jim Carrey).  Children in Kindergarten through 5th grade are welcome to watch a movie in the Kendall Young Library Children’s Department every Saturday from 10:30 a.m.-noon.  Older siblings & families are also welcome. Bring a friend, enjoy the movie and popcorn.

Jane Young House Tours

Webster City Women’s Club members, JoAnn Robb and Loween Getter, will take the parts of Jane Young and her housekeeper, Susan Dougherty, on Saturday, December 14 for a “Holiday House Tour”.  Christmas décor from Every Blooming Thing, The Flower Cart, Heart N Home, Hy-Vee Floral, and Stony Creek Landscapes will be showcased.  The pre-scheduled 30 minute tours will be from 12:00-4:00 pm at The Jane Young House with 4 to 8 people. Santa’s Workshop

Santa Claus and his elves will set up shop in a new Webster City location this year.  Children and families are invited to Santa’s Workshop in the Kendall Young Library meeting room on Saturday, December 14 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Children will have an opportunity to visit with Santa and share their Christmas wish lists as well as make some holiday crafts. Volunteers will be available to assist with the crafts.  Those attending will also have a chance to decorate a cookie and have refreshments.  The event is free of charge and is sponsored by the library and the Webster City Area Chamber of Commerce. –
