I’m Deb Brown, the Executive Director of the Webster City Area Chamber of Commerce. It’s been my great fortune to live in Webster City since March of this year.
December 11 our first annual Lighted Drive at Briggs Woods begins! Businesses and organizations have been invited to participate for a low cost of $25. The Hamilton County Conservation have agreed to keep the lower campgrounds open for businesses and organizations to showcase their lighted displays. Visitors can drive through in the comfort of their car and enjoy the beauty before them.
Not only does the Lighted Drive warm people’s hearts and brighten the night, it supports a local charity. There will be a free will donation box at the end and those funds raised will go to assist the Domestic Abuse Center. The Center supports 20 Northern Iowa Counties and is located in Fort Dodge. Imagine being in a position to need help and safety for you and your children at this holiday season. We hope to raise some funds to help others out this holiday season.
It’s not too late to participate! The easiest way is to jump in your car sometime between December 11 and December 25 and drive over to the Briggs Woods Park on Highway 17 about 2 miles south of Webster City and enjoy the lights. You’ll see the sign for the Briggs Woods Golf Course, turn their and follow the road until you see the lights! The display will run from 6 pm to 10 pm at night.
If you have a business or organization and would like to set up, we encourage you to do so. Just give us a call at the Chamber, 515-832-2564 for instructions. You don’t need to be a Chamber member, you just need to have the holiday spirit!
