For the third year in a row, Greene County Rams brings home a gold medal at Special Olympics’ State bowling.  This was junior Rylie Breheny’s first year bowling, and she demonstrated that she has talent.  Rylie was among the eight hundred thirty-six Special Olympics Iowa (SOIA) bowlers who completed on Saturday November 23, 2013.  Rylie’s (16-21) female division bowled at Bowlarama in Des Moines.

Rylie was cheered on by her Dad, Jon, Step-mother, Jodi, Grandfather, Bill and her Uncle Nick.  Rylie’s friends Makayla Murray and Nicole Burton came to support her, too.  Coaches Deb Rogers, Mona Weltz, Sue Lansman, and volunteer Bob Rogers came to complete Rylie’s  cheering section.  Once the awards were over, the team headed to their next favorite sport of shopping at Valley West Mall where Rylie’s mother, Tami, was able to join the group after she got off work.  It was a great day for everyone.

The team would like to thank John and Vickie of Sparetime Lanes for their continual support, coaching, and encouragement that help the athletes be the best they can be for bowling.
