Studies in Creativity Student Juried Exhibit at the Memorial Union

AMES, Iowa — The Iowa State Memorial Union is hosting the exhibit Studies in Creativity, the annual fall student juried art exhibition.  The show will be on display through December 10, 2013 in the Gallery.

Thirty-nine pieces were selected by Asa Wentzel Fisher, printmaker at Whole Hog Editions Studio and ISU alum.  The show includes paintings, printmaking, photography, drawings, metals, digital imagery, ceramics, woodworking and mixed media.

Award winners were announced at a reception on October 29.  Winners include:
Best of Show – Sarah Madison, Junior – Integrated Studio Arts
“Male & Female Recreation” (Collage)

Merit Award – Heather Whittlesey, Graduate Student – Integrated Studio Arts
“Dwellings Set 1 and 2” (Ceramic)

Merit Award – Omar Ibrahim, Senior – Integrated Studio Arts
“Portrait of Rachel” (Oil on Canvas)

Merit Award – Sodam Lee, Graduate Student – Integrated Studio Arts
“Day and Night Series” (Printmaking)

Honorable Mention – Kristen Greteman, Graduate Student – Architecture
“Untitled” (Photograph)

Honorable Mention – Liz Fisher, Senior – Integrated Studio Arts
“Charcoal Master Study” (Charcoal)

Purchase Award – Clark Colby, Graduate Student – Architecture
“Little World ISU” (Photograph)

The Iowa State Memorial Union is located at 2229 Lincoln Way in Ames on the ISU campus.  The Gallery is on the 3rd floor.  For viewing times between 8am and 8pm call 515.296.6848.
