Doris Davison, 90, of Ankeny, Iowa, died October 31, 2013 from complications of congestive heart failure and pulmonary edema following a broken hip.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday November 4, 2013 at the Ankeny First United Methodist Church with interment at the Powers Warren Cemetery near Runnells, Iowa.
Doris was born December 29, 1922 in Adelphi, Iowa. She was a former country school teacher in Allen and Four Mile townships and also worked at National Handcraft in Des Moines before retiring. She was an active member of the Ankeny First United Methodist Church for over 50 years, the United Methodist Women’s Group, the American Legion Auxiliary Post 42, and the Local 450 Retirees of John Deere Des Moines Works. She enjoyed time in her flower gardens at home, identifying and appreciating the beauty of nature, and cooking and trying new recipes. She shared this through serving as Campfire and Girl Scout Leaders when her daughters were young.
