Funeral Services for Kurtis Prescott, 51 of Jefferson will be 10:00 am Monday, October 28, 2013 at The Dwelling Place in Jefferson.  Interment will take place at a later date.  Visitation will be Sunday, October 27, 2013 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm in Fellowship Hall at The Dwelling Place in Jefferson.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. Cards and memorials may be left at the visitation and funeral.

Kurtis James Prescott, age 51, was born on August 22, 1962, in Juneau, Alaska. He was the son of Jack & Josephine (Beierly) Prescott and died on October 24, 2013. He moved to Jefferson in 1979 and graduated in 1981 from Jefferson High School. He served in the Navy from 1982 to 1986 and was stationed in San Diego, California.

Kurt met Lisa DeBok and started dating in the 1980’s. They were married in 1984 and lived in San Diego for five years. In 1989, Kurt and Lisa moved back to Jefferson and raised their three daughters; Amanda, Heather, and Sarah. Kurtis loved life and all it had to give. Even though his first love was always Lisa, he LOVED to bowl. He bowled with many friends and bowled in many professional tournaments. Although Kurtis had many jobs that he loved, he enjoyed driving a semi for many years and was currently working at Louis Dreyfus ethanol plant in Grand Junction, Iowa.

Kurtis will be greatly missed by all who knew him as a good friend, loving father, brother, and husband. Kurtis is survived by his wife, Lisa Prescott of Jefferson; 3 daughters: Amanda Prescott of Jefferson, Heather Prescott of Bolingbrook, IL and Sarah Prescott of Ankeny, IA; parents: Josephine and Bob Armstrong of Jefferson and Eve Simpson of Toledo, IA; brother Jack (Melody) Prescott of Jamesport, MO; stepbrothers and sisters: Leigh Fox of Lemont, IL; Bob Prescott of Sequin, TX, Mike Farrier of Wayne, NE, Shelley Garlick of Alda, NE; Rowdy Armstrong of Apopka, FL and Lee Armstrong of Juneau, AK;. He is preceded by his father, Jack Prescott of Tama, IA.
