Posted October 23, 2013 in Obituaries, Greene County

September 5, 1936- October 20, 2013

Berwyn Robb, known to his family and friends as “Moose”, was born September 5, 1936 at Garden City, South Dakota. His parents were Berwyn L. Robb and Marion (Kness) Robb-Dahl.

Berwyn attended several schools in South Dakota, California and Iowa before graduating from Garden City High School in 1954. Shortly after graduating, he served two years in the Army. He returned to Iowa where he worked for Lyle and Helen Marshall and other farmers in the Paton area.

In 1962, Berwyn was married to Carolyn Galbraith and two children were born to this union. The couple later divorced. Berwyn farmed for many years before becoming an OTR truck driver.

Berwyn enjoyed hunting and fishing and couldn’t wait to get out on the boat. He also liked his woodworking; finding new projects to build and give to others. In his life, Berwyn met a lot of people he didn’t know, but never met a stranger.

Berwyn passed away peacefully on October 20, 2013 at the Thomas Rest Haven in Coon Rapids with family and friends by his side.

He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Robb of Jefferson, brothers; Roger (Phyllis) Robb of Porterville, California and Douglas (Myra) Dahl of Watertown, South Dakota, sisters; Dawn (Dick) Haase of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Dixie (John) Engels of Watertown, South Dakota, aunts; Maethelle Kness of Altoona and Mary Hansen of Panama City, Florida, special friend Carol Warehime of Gowrie and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, John David, parents and step-dad Delbert Dahl.

A gathering of friends and family to celebrate Berwyn’s life was held Thursday, October 31, 2013, at the Paton Community Room from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.
