Betty Stumpf
Betty Lou Stumpf, 91 of Ames, passed away October 16, 2013. Burial of the cremated remains will be in the Princeville Cemetery in Princeville, Illinois. Mass will be said for Betty Lou at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Ames, and St. Patrick Catholic Church in Decatur.
Betty Stumpf was born November 23, 1921 to Earl and Bessie (Graves) Cox in Wyoming, Illinois. She graduated from Illinois State College and taught at St. Patrick’s Elementary School in Decatur, Illinois. Betty and Ben Stumpf were married August 25, 1942 in Sacramento, California. She was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Princeville and lived for 36 years in Decatur.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Linda (John) Stumpf Hagge of Ames; and two granddaughters, Sarah Hagge and Elspeth Hagge.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ben; and her sister, Phyllis Breeding.
