Marjorie Marie Crouse, age 93 of Boone, formerly of Dana passed away Saturday, October 12, 2013 at the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone where she has been living since March 2007.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 16, at Walter ~ Schroeder Funeral Home, Fifth & Story Street in Boone from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Thursday, at the church from 8:30 a.m. to the time of service.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 712 12th Street in Boone, with Rev. Lindsay Watkins officiating.
Interment will be at Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone, Iowa.
Marjorie was born September 19, 1920 in Nebraska City, Nebraska, the daughter of Eustace “Jack” and Hazel Marie (Wilson) Lineweber.
She attended school in Nebraska City, Nebraska.
On April 15, 1945 Marjorie married Harry Alfred Crouse Jr. at the Naval Air Base in Corpus Christi, Texas where Harry was stationed. In 1952, the couple moved to a farm in Greene County in the Dana community. Marjorie was a homemaker and helped her husband on the farm. She also worked at the Ryerson Dress Shop in Jefferson. In 1985, the couple moved to Boone.
Marjorie was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Boone, Trinity Lutheran Church in Jefferson and St. John’s Lutheran Church in Dana where she taught Sunday school. She was certified in giving swimming lessons and served with the Red Cross.
She enjoyed quilting, cross stitch, playing cards including pitch, bridge and 500 in a community club in the surrounding Dana area.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Harry in 2007 and her brother Howard Lineweber.
Marjorie is survived by her daughter Janet Schott (Jim) of Humboldt, IA.; her daughter Jean Bosworth (Randy) of Johnston, IA.; her son Dale Crouse (Teresa) of Dana, IA.; her brother Robert Lineweber of Madison, Wisconsin; her 6 grandchildren; her 7 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In memory of Marjorie, memorials may be given to the Iowa Hospice Panora or Alzheimer’s Association Greater Iowa Chapter.
