DES MOINES – The Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs is reminding Iowans of an upcoming application deadline for the Iowa Arts Council’s Rural Arts Development Grant program. IAC is a division of the Department of Cultural Affairs.
The Rural Arts Development Grant provides $1,000 to $5,000 to support arts projects that positively impact the quality of life in rural Iowa, demonstrate public value and support Iowa Arts Council funding priorities.
Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations incorporated in Iowa that have federal tax-exempt status; schools; local, county, state and federal government agencies; and Tribal councils. Eligible applicants must be located in one of the 61 Iowa counties defined as non-metropolitan or non-micropolitan statistical areas by the United States Office of Management and Budget. Applications for the Rural Arts Development Grant program are due at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, to the Iowa Arts Council, 600 E. Locust Street, Des Moines, Iowa 50319. This is not a postmark deadline. This application deadline is for eligible projects occurring between Jan. 1, 2014, and June 30, 2014.
Funding for the Rural Arts Development Grant program is made possible by an annual appropriation from the Iowa Legislature to the Iowa Arts Council, a division of the Department of Cultural Affairs, and by the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.
