John R. McCrea, 92, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2013 at Hospice Kavanagh House. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am, Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at St. Theresa Catholic Church with burial to follow at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 pm, Tuesday at the funeral home with a vigil service to follow at 7pm.
John was born in Des Moines and lived here all his life. He worked for Harold Robbins Company until his retirement in 1986. He was a proud WWII veteran of the US Navy in the Normandy Invasion.
He will be missed by his son, Jerry and dog, Peaches. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Geneva in 2007.
Memorial contributions may be made to his church.
