William Flynn, 86, passed away October 1, 2013 at Mercy Hospice. Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Saturday, October 5 at Brooks South Town Chapel with funeral services beginning at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Bill was employed at Des Moines News Agency where he met his wife, Donna. He owned and operated Bill’s Towing Company for many years in the Des Moines area as well as a Sinclair Station located at 2nd Avenue and Interstates 80 and 35. Following his retirement, he was employed with Casey’s Warehouse as a Security Guard for 15 years.
Bill will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather who was known to enjoy a cup of coffee at his favorite restaurants. He also liked Nascar races, wrestling and country and western. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his children, Mike (Nancy) Flynn of AZ, Karen (Bob) Thomas of Indianola, Richard (Dianna) Carnahan of Des Moines, Darla Chiles (Gary Sorter) of Des Moines, Sharon (Rick) Noring of Des Moines, Cindy (Doug) Doggett of Bondurant, Lori Shultice of West Des Moines and Pam Kimrey (Ed Cisneros) of Des Moines; fourteen grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
