The Perry Chamber of Commerce will host its 12th annual Trick or Treat Spook-tacular on Thursday, Oct. 31, from 4 – 6 p.m., in downtown Perry.
The event will be a ghostly fun Halloween celebration which will include safe trick or treating at downtown businesses for hundreds of children — and lots of spooky fun. This event is a great way to showcase our local businesses located on Second Street. Bring the kids downtown for some candy and shopping fun. Recommended ages are 12 and younger. New this year will be the addition of local civic organizations joining in on the fun by handing out treats as well. We will also have a local group offering grilled hot dogs and burgers so you can grab something for dinner that is not candy.
Safe and Healthy Halloween at Dallas County Hospital will be held on Oct. 31 from 5 – 6:30 p.m. Head up to Dallas County Hospital for a fun, safe and healthy Halloween experience. Rumor has it it’s the place to get a large haul of fun Halloween treats.
City-wide trick or treating will be held on Oct. 31 from 6 – 8 p.m. Make sure to turn your front lights on if you want kids to come to your door for treats. Please be aware that there will be a lot of children out and about, so drive with caution. Let’s have a fun and safe Halloween.
RAGBRAI Grant Program
The Perry RAGBRAI Committee is opening up a new grant program for local non-profits and organizations to reap the benefits of all the hard work put into making RAGBRAI the success it was for our community. Ten-thousand dollars of the profits have been put into this grant program, and it is to be used for projects for local groups. The idea behind this is to show that all the effort put toward RAGBRAI paid off through giving back to the community. If your organization is looking for some financial help with an upcoming project, please stop in the Chamber or give us a call for more information about this opportunity. A huge thank you goes out to all the volunteers who gave so much of their time. Let’s celebrate by putting this money back into the community.
Welcome to Jeannette Loyd
We would like to welcome Jeannette Loyd to our Chamber Incubator located at 1226 Second St. Loyd is a licensed massage therapist and will also be offering spray tanning. Stop in and see what she has done with the place. Along with massages and spray tanning, Loyd will also be offering a number of alternative health products. We wish her the best of luck and encourage everyone to support one of Perry’s newest businesses.
