Some interesting facts about Adel
In 1850 Leroy Lambert was active in starting up the Christian Church. Although the Christian Church Charter was organized in May 1847 with 18 members, it was not until 1868 that a church was erected. Leroy donated the first organ. On Easter Sunday, March 30, 1902 the church burned. A new church was rebuilt where the jail is located and in 1923 the present church was built.
